The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) and NEEM Foundation on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop and implement research and Programmes on peace and security.

The agreement is also to explore opportunities for synergy, understanding the scope of operations and share information about peacebuilding, strategic communication, research and psycho-social work in Nigeria and other countries.
In his remarks before the MoU was signed, the Director General of IPCR, Dr. Bakut T. Bakut said that even though the agreement is for three years, the period is enough to build a relationship that will last.
Responding, the Executive Director of the Foundation, Dr. Fatima Akilu said that the MoU is the beginning of great things to come.
Expressing joy over the development, Dr. Akilu said that she’s certainly looking forward to see where the partnership will lead to.
The partnership, according to the MoU, will lead to organizing conferences, seminars, symposiums and workshops on peace and security in Africa.
The Institute is also partnering with the Foundation to execute capacity building for peacebuilders and local stakeholders in communities grappling with violent conflicts, especially in dialogue and building resilience for communities at risk.
Both will jointly organize state-level conferences on Conflict Early Warning and Early Response (CEWER) mechanism. They will also look at other areas of interest.
