The Institute operates a multi media library of about 10,000 volumes made up of books, journals, newspapers / magazines, government publications, CD Roms, tapes, maps, albums etc.
In line with the mandate of the Institute, its core collection comprises of up to date and relevant materials in the areas of conflict prevention, management and resolution, international relations / diplomacy, international law, politics, peace and security studies, gender studies, history and reference materials.
The library operates an automated library system using Liberty library Management System (Version 5.0), Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). It has a public Access computer section, Institute Depository, Current Awareness, Reference, Technical, Soft and Hard Reading sections.
Usage of the Library is restricted to members and staff of the Institute who are eligible to make full use of the library and borrow books in accordance with the lending policy of the library. However, graduate students, researchers and peace practitioners wishing to use the library can do so by applying to the Head of Library services which would enable them access the reference services of the library for specific period.
The Library is opened to users from 8.00 am to 4pm, Monday – Friday. It is closed on weekends and public holidays.
