The Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development.

The signing of the MoU marks a significant step by the two institutions towards strengthening their commitment to peacebuilding and humanitarian efforts.

This landmark agreement underscores the shared vision of both institutions to foster a culture of peace, tolerance, and sustainable development.

The MOU signing ceremony, which took place at the IPCR office in Abuja, was attended by key officials from both institutions.

The partnership aims to leverage the strengths of each organization to promote peaceful coexistence among communities and enhance collaborative initiatives in peace and conflict resolution, humanitarian response, and sustainable development.

According to the Director-General of IPCR, Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, both institutions are poised to make a lasting impact in the realm of peacebuilding and humanitarian response.

He added that the partnership is expected to yield significant benefits for both institutions, as well as the broader community.

The DG noted that love is at the center of those who engage in humanitarian work and that the more people involved in humanitarian activities, the better for the world.

He disclosed that the IPCR family is working tirelessly to ensure peace exists among communities.

In his remarks, Dr. Prince Francis Origa, the Registrar/CEO of the Humanitarian Institute, appreciated Dr. Ochogwu for his dedication and honesty in his work as the Director-General of IPCR.

He said: “We are happy and committed to this course, and we don’t want the signing of the MOU to end on paper.” He urged the DG to designate a desk officer to interface with the Humanitarian Institute.
