The Director General of the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, on Wednesday, appeared on the Voice of Nigeria (VON) to share insights on the workings of the Institute.
During his appearance on VON, Dr. Ochogwu outlined IPCR’s mandate and vision, emphasizing its goal to become Africa’s hub for policy-relevant research and capacity building in peace and conflict management strategies.
He also highlighted the Institute’s collaborative efforts with various stakeholders, including security agencies, faith-based organizations, NGOs, and international organizations. These partnerships aim to address pressing challenges in Nigeria, such as farmer-herder conflicts, communal clashes, ethno-religious crises, militancy, youth unrest, sectarian agitations, and terrorism.
Dr. Ochogwu further unveiled IPCR’s plans for 2025, focusing on consolidating its achievements in peace promotion and conflict management for peaceful coexistence, security, stability, and socio-economic development.
